HP INDIGO TO DEMO WS6000 AT LABEL SUMMIT LATIN AMERICA
Thursday 28. April 2011 - HP Indigo will run live demonstrations of its WS6000 digital label press during Label Summit Latin America in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on May 17-18.
Vince Pentella, in charge of strategic business development for the HP Indigo press division, will guide visitors through live demonstrations in the exhibition hall on both days of the event. The WS6000 targets high-volume, medium-run labels and flexible packaging production. The press operates at 30 meters per minute for 4-color jobs and supports repeat lengths of 317 x 980 mm, using each frame of the substrate and reducing waste.
Albert Trias, director of AB Graphic International, HP Indigo’s converting machines partner, will also be on hand to discuss the benefits of the Digicon Series-2 finishing line when used in conjunction with HP’s digital presses.
This is the first time that live machine demonstrations will take place during Label Summit Latin America. The presence of the HP Indigo WS6000 press will complement conference sessions dedicated to digital technology – which will include representatives from HP Indigo, Xeikon, EFI and Primera Technology, as well as an HP Indigo customer, Brazilian converter Mack Color – and flexible packaging.
“Its a great opportunity to show visitors first hand the benefits of digital printing, which continues to be adopted with great success around the world, said Fernando Alperowitch, business manager, HP Indigo and Inkjet Press, Latin America. The market increasingly requires solutions for short- and medium-run printing as well as for the reduction of waste and stock. The WS6000 addresses these needs with excellent quality and greater profitability for the label converter – both fundamental points in a market as competitive as the label sector.”
Alperowitch reports that the company has installed more than 30 WS6000 digital presses in Latin America, with Chile, Mexico and Brazil the most common destinations. “Such success is owed not only to the positive experiences of the more than 120 HP Indigo customers in the region over the last ten years, but also the great advantages brought by this new generation of technology,” he continued.
Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director, said: “We are delighted to change the format of our summit to offer visitors live technology demonstrations for the first time. It represents an excellent opportunity for Brazilian label converters to witness cutting-edge technology at first hand.”
