ABC Print beefs up its cutting capacity
Wednesday 27. April 2011 - Hereford based ABC Print is replacing a 78cm width Polar guillotine with its second Polar 92X, a model and size which managing director Mike Greene says will give it an extra 10% cutting capacity and make paper handling on the machine easier for the operator.
“The Anicolors continue to be highly productive. Work is flying through them and we have been watering down the gum solution on our plates to enable us to get to sellable copy within three or four sheets. The results are fabulous but productive presses mean we need good cutting capacity to keep pace,” says Mr Greene.
“With the Polar 92 we will have a deeper cut area and the cutting mechanism is faster than on our existing 78. Because we can cut across the length of the blade we will have to change the knife less frequently, too. We will have two Polar 92s which makes production very flexible,” he adds.
The Polar 92 is due to be delivered at the end of the month and from the start the guillotine will run at least 16 hours a day.
ABC Print is a litho, digital and wide format printer which supports an ecological approach to production and a focus on providing its customers with a fast, quality conscious and competitively priced service.
