Ogden Newspapers Replaces 9 Workflow Systems with NewsXtreme + Ink Optimization

Wednesday 20. April 2011 - Ogden Newspapers has purchased nine licenses of NewsXtreme and NewsXtreme LITE to replace the existing Kodak Preps/ EVO workflow systems at the following newspapers:

Maui News (Maui, HI), Post-Journal (Jamestown, NY), Morning Journal (Lisbon, OH), Herald-Star (Steubenville, OH), The Intelligencer (Wheeling, WV), News-Sentinel (Parkersburg, WV), The Journal (Martinsburg, WV), Daily Freeman Journal (Webster City, IA), and Sun-Gazette (Williamsport, PA).
This purchase came as a result of Kodak announcing that the version of software Ogden Newspapers was running would no longer be supported.
The sites will also use Ink-Miser Ink Optimization to reach a maximum ink savings and enhance their print quality.
“Knowing Presteligence will continue to serve the newspaper industry was important to us as we made a decision in upgrading this workflow software. About a dozen other sites have been using NewsXtreme and other Presteligence products since 2008 and everyone loves the software,” noted Dave Frame, Regional Business Manager for Ogden Newspapers.
“Ogden Newspapers will see an increase in automation with NewsXtreme compared to what they are accustomed,” says Bob Behringer, President & CEO of Presteligence. “Ink Optimization will also help to improve their printing and create an estimated savings of more than 20% in ink costs across the board. We look forward to expanding our products into other Ogden sites.”
On-site installations and preparations will begin immediately.
