Atempo Demonstrates Enhanced Digital Archiving and Expanded Footprint in the Media and Entertainment Industry at NAB 2011

Tuesday 12. April 2011 - Company Continues to Broaden Digital Asset Management and Workflow Application Integrations

Atempo, Inc., a leading provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, will showcase its continued product innovation within the media and entertainment industry at the 2011 NAB Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Product demonstrations with customers and partners will highlight the ease of integration and customization of workflows enabled by Atempo Digital Archive (ADA), Atempo’s highly scalable and flexible file archiving solution. ADA’s open architecture enables seamless integration into workflow applications across a broad range of platforms – streamlining digital workflows in data-intensive environments.
For Atempo customers in media and entertainment, ADA goes beyond preservation and hierarchical storage management, to actively participate in the day-to-day workflow. Today, more organizations require creative data to be retained at different stages in its lifecycle. Raw data, edited files and final projects need to be efficiently stored, as any version could be leveraged for future projects. ADA’s transparency to end-users and close integration with widely used creative applications allow those professionals to easily archive at various steps in the content creation process and pull information into and out of the archives whenever needed.
“Atempo Digital Archive is gaining significant market adoption, with licensing revenues growing 35 percent in 2010. Much of that expansion is coming from media and entertainment organizations seeking to optimize storage resources and better protect and preserve their digital assets in the face of enormous data growth,” said Richard Heitmann, Vice President of Marketing at Atempo. ” We are very much in tune with this year’s NAB show theme “the Art of Integration” as Atempo continues to demonstrate its ability to integrate with leading digital asset management systems and other key media workflow applications. Thanks to its flexibility and open architecture, ADA is quickly becoming the preferred solution for customers to integrate digital archiving into their vendor-based or in-house creative workflows.”
At NAB, Atempo will showcase demos of many of its integrated workflow solutions, including Apple Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Server, Building4Media FORK, Data Frameworks ClarityNow! and Square Box CatDV. While ADA has been directly integrated into these and other packaged software applications, ADA also has the flexibility to work with other applications, including those developed in-house by organizations that are able to generate XML files describing the file path and the metadata.
“ClarityNow! was created out of customer demand for storage transparency and control. Data management for file-based workflows can be both challenging and complicated, especially in the archiving component. Atempo made it easy to for us to integrate their enterprise-grade archiving with our robust ClarityNow! automation tools,” said Paul Honrud, CEO and Founder at Data Frameworks, a leading data management software provider to the media and entertainment industry. “Together with our trusted partner Atempo, we enable our high-profile joint customers to monitor and protect their content from ingest to long-term preservation, maximizing storage investments and improving the efficiency of their file-based production lines.”
Data Frameworks will be one of many partners and customers at Atempo’s booth during the 2011 NAB Show. Other Atempo partners that are exhibiting at NAB2011 include BlueArc, Building4media (a Primestream company), EVS/OpenCube Technologies, Isilon, ProConsultant Informatique (see separate announcement), Sony, Rorke Data, Square Box, Spectra Logic and Tiger Technology.
