Walstead Investments completes acquisition of St Ives Web

Thursday 07. April 2011 - Walstead Investments, parent company of Wyndeham Group, announces that its £20 million acquisition of St Ives Web completed today after approval at a general meeting of St Ives plc’s shareholders.

The acquisition creates the UK’s market-leading web offset printer, with 1,525 staff across eleven manufacturing operations and annual turnover in excess of £170 million. The combined group produces 72 weekly and more than 700 monthly magazine and periodical titles. Finance for the transaction was provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
St Ives Web operates from three manufacturing sites in Peterborough, Plymouth and Roche (Cornwall). Clients include Condé Nast, Financial Times, Bauer Consumer Media, Centaur and The Economist Group.
The sites will be rebranded with the Wyndeham name and operate as part of Wyndeham’s Web Division alongside Wyndeham Apple, Wyndeham Heron, Wyndeham Impact and Wyndeham Southernprint.
Mark Scanlon, Walstead chairman, said: “This is an important deal for us and for St Ives. I hope and believe that the UK web offset sector will have a better future from today.”
St Ives Web’s central sales, estimating and customer service teams will relocate to a new Wyndeham Group office on 7 April 2011. The office is located at:
