Ian Trengrouse steps up to take post press product management role
Tuesday 05. April 2011 - Ian Trengrouse has been appointed product executive - postpress for Heidelberg UK. From today (4 April) he assumes responsibility for folders, stitchers and perfect binders, reporting to marketing director Mark Hogan. Paul Thompson retains the postpress packaging and Polar guillotines portfolio.
“Ian brings decades of experience in bookbinding as an operator and production manager and within Heidelberg as a demonstrator and field service supervisor. He has a broad knowledge and a real passion for his subject,” says Mr Hogan.
Apprenticed in binding with James Cond in Birmingham he attended the Matthew Boulton Technical College, he went on to work for commercial printers and trade finishers in his wifes home city of Glasgow for 20 years. He spent a year in Auckland before returning home, shortly afterwards joining Heidelberg. Recruited as a postpress demonstrator he was quickly promoted to field service supervisor and then applications specialist before taking on this new role.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to promote Heidelbergs strong product portfolio and the breadth of knowledge and service support that goes with it,” says Mr Trengrouse. “I will be a link between customers, sales staff and the Heidelberg factory and development team.”
Ian Trengrouse is married to Samantha and has three teenage daughters – Amy, Holly and Hannah. His main hobby is fishing and it is to this he attributes his permanent suntan!
