Zebra Technologies Appoints Deborah Murphy as Vice President, Global Marketing

Friday 01. April 2011 - Leader selected to head global marketing strategy

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA) today announced the promotion of Deborah (Debbie) Murphy to vice president, Global Marketing. She will play a critical role in Zebra’s ongoing efforts to increase global market share and further strengthen its core business and leadership position in specialty printing, auto identification, and asset tracking solutions.
A 15-year Zebra veteran, Murphy has served the company in numerous positions of increasing responsibility – most recently as vice president, Market and Channel Development, Specialty Printing Solutions. In her new role, she’ll centralize Zebra’s global marketing functions, combining marketing and corporate communications (including public and analyst relations, online marketing and internal communications). She is responsible for market strategy and development, including global vertical market development, corporate and global communications, global customer programs and oversight of Zebra’s regional field marketing functions.
“Over the past 15 years, Debbie has led several forward-thinking initiatives that have contributed significantly to our global strategic marketing success and revenue growth,” said Mike Terzich, senior vice president, Global Sales & Marketing. “These include vertical go-to-market strategies, the launch of our burgeoning healthcare business, global market assessments and planning and, most recently, the launch of our ISV program. Under her leadership, I am confident that we will benefit from a cohesive collaborative team that drives progressive, synergistic global marketing programs for Zebra.”
Debbie’s extensive background in business and marketing strategy began at MCI Telecommunication. She later moved to a document management/imaging technology division of GTE, where she served as director of marketing. Murphy has a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business.
“I am excited to begin this next chapter with Zebra and to continue working with the company’s global leadership team to reinforce and grow Zebra’s market position as the innovation leader in asset tracking with specialty printing, RFID and location solutions,” said Murphy. “I look forward to developing marketing strategies that will help achieve the full potential of our company’s international growth plans.”
