Edales MD James Boughton takes on a marathon challenge!
Friday 01. April 2011 - Having completed two marathons in the last three years, raising close to £5,000 for respective charities, Edales Managing Director, James Boughton has put himself up for the challenge for the third time to build on his fundraising success, and will be running the 26.2 mile London Marathon on 17 April.
James chosen charity for this year is Sense. Sense is a leading UK charity that supports and campaigns for adults who are deafblind. Sense works in partnership with deafblind people, their families, carers and professionals – to ensure that everyone challenged by deafblindness or sensory impairment with other disabilities, has access to advice, opportunities and support.
James has been in training since the previous event, and has run a few half marathons in preparation. James says “I am hoping to come in at a respectable time and hopefully beat my previous record of 4hours 2 minutes. As long as I dont get overtaken by people dressed in gorilla suits or on stilts, Ill be happy! Although this is a personal challenge for me, at the end of it all, I will hopefully raise a lot of money for a great cause.”
We will report back with photos and times after the event once James hobbles back into the office!
