X-Rite to unveil new software at European Coatings Show 2011 to help paint retailers improve productivity and industrial customers to synchronize colour measurement instruments worldwide

Monday 21. March 2011 - Company to introduce new software that will help on the paint mixing and customer visualization aspects of selling architectural paints

X-Rite Europe GmbH will unveil new more powerful software packages at the European Coatings Show this spring that will help paint retailers and professional users to improve their productivity and industrial customers to certify that their colour measurement instruments are working properly.
X-Rite Europe representatives also will demonstrate how its new family of multi-angle and non-contact spectrophotometers, CAPSURE mobile device, X-ColorQC software and other products can help any company involved in manufacturing or application of coatings to monitor and maintain precise control of colour in their processes.
Attendees of the ECS Show 2011 being held from 29 to 31 March in Nuremburg, Germany can view demonstrations and obtain information on the new offerings at X-Rite’s stand at 9-350 in Hall 9 of the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.
X-Rite officials are keeping some details about the new software packages under wraps in anticipation of their ECS introduction, and the company is confident the market will receive them warmly.
“After introducing breakthrough color measurement innovations such as CAPSURE and the iVue and MA9X family of spectrophotometers, X-Rite is now expanding its solution offerings to include powerful new tools for the architectural paint market,” says X-Rite Vice President Market and Product Marketing Sonia Megert.
Two new software suites for the architectural paint market will address both sides of the sales counter for paint retailers. One software package centers on paint tinting of custom-mixed paints, while the other helps professionals and retail customers to visualize how paints will look on finished projects. Both new software packages will add new versatility to X-Rite’s CAPSURE handheld instrument that has sold very well in Europe following its introduction about a year ago, says Matthew Adby, product manager for the CAPSURE device.
Consistent with its role as a worldwide leader in color matching equipment, X-Rite is launching a truly universal dispensing and color matching software package for colour picking, matching and custom mixing architectural paints that retailers in any market can use to improve their customer service and in-store efficiency. X-Rite has included all the necessary hardware drivers for retailers so they can use the new software with their existing colourant dispenser equipment.
X-Rite also is introducing a new software suite that paint companies and professionals can use to help customers who specify or buy paints to achieve a greater degree of confidence in their color selections. The software package will be available for use on desktop personal computers, web and certain mobile devices.
Both software packages have been developed to readily accept colour information from CAPSURE, Adby says. CAPSURE gives professional painters, interior decorators, do-it-yourselfers and architects a convenient way to accurately image and measure the colours of walls, carpets or any textured inspiration object on-site and match those colours with an electronic fan deck of tens of thousands of paint chips.
X-Rite also will be unveiling NetProfiler 3, the latest iteration of the company’s NetProfiler software that is used by coatings and paint manufacturers worldwide to remotely adjust and certify the performance of their spectrophotometers, ensuring accurate and reliable color data is used throughout their supply chains. To tap into the rapid growth of mobile computing, NetProfiler 3 can extend the power of profiling to handheld devices with embedded profiling capabilities. An economically priced configuration of NetProfiler 3 can help paint retailers to make sure their color measurement equipment is working properly.
