New Epson Corporate Site Design Enhances Usability
Thursday 10. March 2011 - Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson", TSE: 6724) today announced it had updated its corporate website to a new global design template. The template, which is being rolled out steadily to Epson sites worldwide, is designed to enhance the user experience in terms of both usability and page design.
As a global corporation, Epson is keen for the new web template to emphasize unity and consistency, while also giving Group companies the flexibility to localize their sites to meet the needs of their customers. With customers in markets as varied as home, business, education, and retail, and products ranging from inkjet printers, 3LCD projectors, and crystal devices, it was important to offer a website that allows users to find their required information instinctively and smoothly. The corporate site in particular attracts a wide variety of users including customers, potential customers, investors, analysts, journalists and students, and Epson has sought to provide a functional and eye-catching web environment that allows this array of users to find the necessary information as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The new template is equipped with a number of features aimed at improving user engagement with the site. Now visitors will be able to see at a glance the level and type of page they are viewing, while global links will provide a seamless round-the-world experience and make it easy for people browsing corporate contents to transfer to their local Epson product site.
“We are delighted to introduce the new template to our corporate website,” said Ian Cameron, general manager of Epson’s Global Communications. “Epson designs its products and services with the customer in mind, and our websites are no exception. We believe the new design will enable customers to concentrate on what is important to them.”
Although every effort has been made to ensure a smooth changeover to the new template, Epson asks that web managers of external sites linking to the Epson corporate site check the status of their links.
