OPTIMA GROUP nonwovens with new linear conveyor system at the INDEX

Tuesday 08. March 2011 - Better Flexibility, output and product protection - the transport system that uses a principle quite similar to a magnetic levitation train makes it possible. The second exhibit from Optima Group Nonwovens will be the Total Quality Coding & Control Center.

Innovatively, the new stacker from Optima Group Nonwovens integrates a pioneering transport system that uses the principle of a linear servo drive – quite similar to that of a magnetic levitation train. The system offers three substantial advantages. First: Independence from a conveyor chain generates maximum flexibility. It is now possible to discharge cassettes containing the pre-confectioned and aligned diapers from a traditionally closed system. This, for example, allows feeding the stacks to several different packaging machines, cross-linkage of these packaging machines or also stack ejection for the purpose of quality control. The second advantage is an increased maximum performance that additionally covers a larger format range. With this system, the number of products transported in each cassette (counts) has less influence on the final maximum output. And, thirdly, the new system offers improved product protection. Some of the time gained from the new procedure is effectively spent on smoother acceleration to the downstream packaging machine.
The second exhibit from Optima Group Nonwovens will be the Total Quality Coding & Control Center. The checkweigher of the system monitors if each package contains the correct number of products. The integrated metal detection system tracks smallest of ferrite and non-ferrite particles. In a cost-saving approach, only the affected package is removed from the production process. The coding device, finally, marks every package that passed all controls satisfactorily. A statistical evaluation by OPTIMA TQCC helps to precisely identify and eliminate recurring or frequent errors. The OPTIMA TQCC is conveniently operated from the monitor of the machine control, which, in addition, supports the storage of parameters for more than 100 products. Format changeover is toolless and parameters are selected via the parameter selection of the production line#s machine control.
