New GIZEH Container for Mövenpick
Wednesday 02. March 2011 - The premium brand Mövenpick puts an exclusive spotlight on its new gourmet salads with the sophisticated design of a 125-gram container manufactured by the plastic packaging specialist GIZEH.
Elegant simplicity and high-quality appearance combined with good product visibility – these were the features required by Mövenpick for presentation of a new line of fine food salads and sandwich spreads. The packaging should reflect the characteristics of the premium brand Mövenpick and underscore the exclusive nature of the product.
Together with the Mövenpick licensee Kühlmann, GIZEH developed an elliptically-formed conical 125-gram container made from injection-moulded polystyrene. The exceptional geometry of the cups is particularly remarkable: The conical containers have an oval cross-section which, in combination with the small format, accentuates the exclusive impression of the packaging. The bottom of the cup in the hollow base is curved like a cocktail glass so that the language of form also underscores its high-quality appearance.
The cup has the appearance of highly transparent glass that provides for a clear view of the product and is decorated with an off-mould side and base label. Labelling is carried out directly after the injection moulding process, i.e. the cups are removed from the injection mould by robots and automatically delivered to the labelling system. Another challenge: The curve of the label has to exactly follow the curve of the base. The cup base label also follows the prescribed curvature.
The slip-lid cover which is also manufactured through injection moulding has a shiny curved edge and is decorated with an in-mould label. Both labels and the edge of cup are particularly attractive with the deep “Mövenpick blue”, thus providing a harmonious overall impression between the container and the cover. The container is filled with six different gourmet salads.
