The Agro & Fine Chemicals business line of Saltigo GmbH will be debuting its new name at InformexUSA, which is being held from February 7 – 10, 2011 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The LANXESS subsidiary renamed its former business line Agro & Specialty Chemicals on January 1 to reflect the company’s close ties with the fine chemicals market, which mainly comprises innovative industries that are not active in the agricultural chemicals or pharmaceuticals sectors. These segments include, among others, photovoltaics, polymers, fuel additives and consumer care.
In recent years, the company has achieved success in these sectors in particular with the implementation of custom manufacturing projects. One reason for this success is that Saltigo does not limit its comprehensive range of exclusive custom synthesis services to a few specialties, which means the company is an attractive partner for customers throughout the fine chemicals sector. “We have a broad-ranging technology base and have built up extensive expertise on various procedures and technologies. We can provide customers in fine chemical industries with services along the entire value-added chain – from the idea to market launch and from laboratory to production scale,” explains Dr. Uwe Brunk, head of the Agro & Fine Chemicals business line.
The new name is also intended to create a clearer differentiation between this business line and the activities of other LANXESS business units, many of which also feature specialties in their portfolio.
