THE ADVERTISERS PRINTING COMPANY BECOMES MORE LEAN WITH SGP CERTIFICATION
Tuesday 25. January 2011 - Cites Commitment to Employees, Customers as Key Factor for Becoming SGP Certified
The Advertisers Printing Company, Inc. of St. Louis has successfully completed the necessary requirements to become the 26th SGP Certified facility. Advertisers is a fourth-generation communications provider with a focus on saving clients time. It achieves this by implementing lean manufacturing processes, such as automation, using the most efficient technology available. Advertisers credits SGP Certification as an important component of its lean manufacturing philosophy by enabling the company to run a sustainable operation and to do more with less.
“We became involved with the SGP Partnership because it has high, measurable standards that provide us with well-defined processes to improve our business operations. It was also important for us to take our responsibility to a new level,” comments Sean Honse, scheduler and EHS manager for Advertisers. “Our long-term commitment to our employees and business partners was a key factor in our decision to become certified. SGP certification brings a whole new meaning to ‘business as usual’ and expands the focus of success to include caring for the world we live in.”
“We are pleased to see The Advertisers Printing Company become SGP Certified. The SGP Partnership is a wonderful way for those in the graphic communication industry to publicly demonstrate their commitment to sustainability to a known standard,” states Gary Jones, SGP title.
The SGP Partnership is a non-profit organization that promotes reducing the environmental impact and increasing the social responsibility of the print and graphic communication industry through sustainable green printing practices. SGP Certified Facilities have demonstrated adherence to required sustainability activities, such as the use of packaging materials to minimize waste, estimating ink, coating and consumption, and energy/water conservation.
