New Head for Trelleborg Printing Blankets

Friday 24. December 2010 - Trelleborg Printing Blankets has a new global head following the appointment of Thomas Patrick Linkenheil as PA (Product Area) Director. In his new role Mr Linkenheil, 43, has overall responsibility for around 800 employees who work at Trelleborg's offset blanket manufacturing sites in France, Italy, China and the USA.

“There are big challenges ahead for all blanket manufacturers but there are also huge opportunities and I will be calling upon the experience I have gained working at senior levels at Heidelberg, BASF-Printing Systems and more recently Navico Holding (Private Equity) to ensure Trelleborg continues to be the blanket supplier and partner that printers can rely upon to help them grow their business.
“Vulcan and Rollin are leading brands that people already know and trust. However, the needs of the industry are changing at an ever faster pace and my initial task is to make sure that our R&D departments, production facilities and management teams around the world operate at the same standards of excellence in terms of quality, innovation and service. Printers should obtain the same first class results from a Trelleborg blanket regardless of where it has been produced,” says Mr Linkenheil.
“There are some tremendously exciting innovations taking place in our R&D and manufacturing facilities, which will result in an even wider choice of tailor made blanket solutions that have significantly less impact on the environment. Trelleborg is also undertaking some major investment to ensure we stay at the forefront of blanket technology. For example, the capacity of our Shanghai plant will be doubled during 2011 in order to meet growing local demand.
“I’m looking forward to meeting up over the coming months with our distributors and customers around the globe. The success of Trelleborg depends upon providing printers with the blanket solutions that they need to produce jobs profitably, so you can be sure I will be listening carefully to what they have to say.”
