Kaplan Ventures Announces Formation of Kaplan Global Solutions, Americas

Tuesday 21. December 2010 - Education industry veteran Anne K. Keehn appointed President of new unit

Kaplan, Inc., the leading global education provider and a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO), today announced the formation of Kaplan Global Solutions for the Americas, as part of its Kaplan Ventures division.
This new unit will develop and expand partnerships with traditional colleges and universities in the Americas, building upon Kaplan’s existing Colloquy and Global Pathways businesses. Kaplan Global Solutions will initially offer an array of online learning solutions, curriculum-research and design services, and Pathway programs for international students—enabling traditional colleges and universities to increase international student recruitment, enhance student success, and develop innovative education programs that attract lifelong learners.
Currently, these educational partnerships are delivered and managed through Kaplan Global Solutions units in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. In the future, these teams will explore acquisitions and other strategic partnerships for further expansion.
Anne K. Keehn will take on the new role of President of Kaplan Global Solutions of the Americas. Keehn joins Kaplan from Pearson Inc., where she served as Senior Vice President for Pearson Learning Solutions and Pearson eCollege. A 28-year veteran in the education and technology fields, Keehn has previously held executive roles at SunGard/SCT, Blackboard, PeopleSoft, and Datatel.
