CPI acquire the black & white book printing division of Litografia Rosés (Spain)
Tuesday 21. December 2010 - CPI, number one book printer in Europe, announced today the acquisition of the black & white book printing division of Litografia Rosés in Spain. This acquisition represents a major step for our two companies. The commercial name of the new entity is CPI Black Print.
For CPI, this acquisition is an opportunity to expand in the Spanish market which offers some interesting growth opportunities, especially in short run printing. It is also an increase in printing capacities for pocket books, a trademark of Litografia Rosés. This acquisition is a key element in our strategy in terms of assurance of supply, cost reduction and improved quality of service to our clients. Our commitment to the pocket book market is clear as we are also investing in France and in the UK in highly productive equipments dedicated to this product.
Litografia Rosès was from the very beginning on top of our list when we looked at expanding our market coverage. This company has built an image of premium quality and service, supported by a philosophy of continuous improvement and consistent investments. About 100 employees are joining CPI as part of the agreement and we will also maintain an technical and commercial relationship with the Rosés group.
We are happy to announce that Xavier Valls, formerly Chief Finance Officer of Litografia Rosés, is appointed as Chief Executive Officer for CPI Iberica. We are also fortunate to have secured a long term collaboration agreement with Vincens Rosés who brings to us his sense of commitment to customers and his knowledge of the European markets. Xavier and Vincens will report directly to Pierre-François Catté, Chairman of the Executive Board.
The coming weeks will be dedicated to articulating the relationship with our clients who work with CPI in multiple countries. Our objective is clear: we want to keep a customized service in our different locations while providing our clients with the benefits of our increased production capacity, our broader market presence and better cost optimization that come with CPI new dimension
