The Baltimore Sun announces Bob Little as Head of Investigative and Enterprise Content

Friday 17. December 2010 - The Baltimore Sun has appointed veteran reporter Bob Little as the Head of Investigative and Enterprise Content. In this newly created position, Little will be responsible for overseeing all investigative projects. Little recently served as Sunday Editor, supervising short and long-term reporting projects and assigning, developing and selecting articles, photographs and graphics for the Sunday and weekend editions.

Little started with The Sun in 1998 as a business writer. In 2003, he served as national correspondent, covering breaking news and enterprise stories from 26 states and 12 countries. He covered two assignments in Iraq, military missions in Haiti and Kuwait, a four-month posting to the Pentagon, the London subway bombing, the landfall and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, shootings at Virginia Tech and the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
His reporting about military medicine has changed how soldiers on the battlefield are treated. His articles about preventable deaths in combat prompted the U.S. Army to distribute tourniquets to every soldier and Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan and to make the devices standard issue for deployed soldiers worldwide. Three years ago, he received the George Polk Award for his investigative reporting from Iraq.
Little holds a B.S. in mass communication from Towson State University and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University. He worked for the Carroll County Times in Westminster, Md., and the Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va., before joining his hometown newspaper in 1998.
