International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) Announces New Executive Director
Wednesday 15. December 2010 - Publishing Industry Veteran Bill McCoy to Lead Organization
After conducting an extensive search, the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill McCoy as Executive Director, effective January 9, 2011. Bill will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IDPF, the global trade and standards organization for digital publishing. In conjunction with Bill’s joining and anticipated future growth, the IDPF is establishing its office location in the Seattle, Washington area.
An experienced manager and entrepreneur, Bill most recently served as General Manager, Digital Publishing at Adobe Systems Incorporated. Bill previously served two terms on the IDPF Board of Directors, playing a key role in the development of the IDPF EPUB standard, and has been actively contributing to the development of EPUB3, the forthcoming major revision to the standard.
“Digital publishing is rapidly becoming a major market force, and IDPF has a critical role to play as the global trade and standards organization,” said George Kerscher, President, IDPF. “I’m delighted that Bill has agreed to serve the IDPF at this juncture — his vision and leadership will be critical to taking the organization to the next level of success.”
