Kneehigh celebrates 30 years with classy tome
Tuesday 14. December 2010 - St Austell Printing Company has produced Kneehigh, a beautifully designed and indexed book to mark the 30th anniversary of a touring theatre group based in Truro.
The Cornwall based printing company used a range of papers for the arty ring bound tome, including Howard Smith’s ON uncoated offset stock, selected because it was a good product for the solid colours used on the divider pages and would die-cut cleanly, making round windows into the four-colour sections and index edges.
ON is an FSC Chain of Custody certified sheet and was used in combination with vegetable based inks by this ISO 14001 environmentally accredited printer. It was also deemed to be a good value mid range sheet. Produced from eucalyptus pulp, ON has good bulk and stability and its low absorption makes it a versatile sheet across litho and digital applications. It gives real punch and vitality to colour work.
The Kneehigh Book was printed on a five-colour B2 Komori Lithrone press. The print run was 1,000 and was well received by the theatre company which has enjoyed a solid working relationship with St Austell Printing Company for over 25 years.
St Austell Printing Company’s Print Manager Steve Mattey explained: “We use Howard Smith because they have a local branch and they can provide a good daily service which is vitally important to us in our efforts to raise our service levels even higher. We enjoy a good level of service from Howard Smith and we feel a certain loyalty to them for this.”
