MARK ANDY PERFORMANCE SERIES BREAKS INTO INDIA
Wednesday 08. December 2010 - Converting leaders Barcom Industries and Astron Packaging invest in proven technology
Mark Andy, the market leader in narrow-web printing press solutions, announce two Performance Series machine sales in India, signaling early acceptance of the new press line in this growing region. Both machines are scheduled to be installed in early 2011.
Barcom Industries, a leading producer of pressure-sensitive labels, stickers and tags based out of Maharashtra, purchased the first Performance Series P5 to be installed in the country. The converter has invested in an 8-colour, 13 inch (330 mm) wide machine, complete with a rail system, web turnbar and cold foil unit. A Mark Andy loyalist, Mr. K N Bhat and Mr. Prasanna Sahu of Barcom Industries is quite upbeat of the fact that he will be the first owner to get a P5 in India.
According to the company, “The Performance Series press line encompasses state-of-the-art flexographic print technology with a uniquely engineered print-head design and extremely fast make-ready times. The addition of the P5 will not only bring to us advanced technology but will also offer a high-quality, servo-driven press at a reasonable price.”
Astron Packaging has also invested in a Performance Series P5. The company is a leading supplier of corrugated boxes and self-adhesive labels. The 10 inch (250 mm) wide, 8-colour press will add to the broad printing and converting capabilities already in place at Astron. The press is outfitted with extensive options including chilled impression rolls, a rail system to house a web turnbar, cold foil unit and a rotary screen head, and a rotary hot foil stamp unit, all to further enhance Astron’s capacity.
Mr. Niraj Darji of Astron Packaging, Ahmedabad says, “We went in for the Performance Series because of its innovative print platform and the machine’s consistently high print quality. It is sure to benefit our customers as their demand levels at our end are steadily increasing and with this addition, we are sure to continue meeting our customers’ expectations. Not only is the press highly efficient but is also very user friendly due to its simple design.”
Given the success of the Performance Series in India, Gourav Roy, managing director of Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), Mark Andy’s authorized dealer for India, is quite optimistic of installing more Performance Series presses in the immediate future. Says Gourav, “Barcom Industries and Astron Packaging were seeking new servo machines with advanced capabilities, to add to their existing range. After looking at traditional offerings, we presented them the latest servo technology in the Performance Series line. And both were immediately taken by the P5’s groundbreaking productivity platform.”
The Performance Series P5 and P3 can both be seen this week at Labelexpo India in the FIG and Mark Andy stand, B35. The event runs from 08th – 11th December at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
