Wyndeham Wins PPA Magazine Printing Company of the Year 2010
Wednesday 01. December 2010 - Wyndeham Heron has been crowned Magazine Printing Company of the year at the PPA Production and Environment Awards 2010. Wyndeham beat St Ives and Polestar to the top honours which were announced at London's Vinopolis on 26 November.
Wyndeham Heron’s winning entry showcased some of the high profile weekly and monthly publications that the group produces for its magazine publishing clients, including IPC’s Southbank title Marie Claire, which was moved to Heron in summer 2010 and successfully transferred from gravure to web offset production. Also entered was a special larger size Fashion issue of Harpers Bazaar published by The National Magazine Company, a World Cup Preview issue of 442 with a special 10pp gatefold cover, and the 60th anniversary issue of weekly publication Autosport, both published by Haymarket.
Many of the titles produced by the Heron team have elements produced at other companies in the Group including Impact, Grange and Wyndeham Pre-Press. By performing partnerships with its sister companies Wyndeham can provide a completely integrated end-to-end publishing solution that is managed and controlled by Heron.
The judging panel, which consisted of senior figures in the magazine publishing industry, said Wyndeham had “gone the extra mile with their clients offering a high quality of service with 100% accurate delivery times.”
Winning the PPA award marks a strong year for Wyndeham Group in which it also became the first heat-set printer in the UK to achieve Fogra-PSO certification for colour management.
