Steinemann Technology at PRINTPACK INDIA 2011
Wednesday 01. December 2010 - Focus on high-end laminating applications for packagings
Metallised polyester films increase attention at the POS / The LOTUS 102 SF gets the most out of its cost advantage at high throughputs in folding-box pro-duction / New feeder permits much shorter setup times and higher productivity
At PRINTPACK INDIA 2011 (New Delhi, 16 – 21 January), Steinemann Technology AG, St. Gallen/Switzerland, will be presenting its LOTUS 102 SF laminating machine for high-end laminating applications in packaging production on its 170 m2 exhibition stand in Hall 7C (Stand B3). The fo-cus will be on demonstrating the laminating of metallised polyester films on folding boxes, a process that has the effect of significantly enhancing the value of products at the POS. The demand for creative and visually high-quality packagings is steadily increasing, including in the growth market of India. Customers are looking for affordable solutions in this field. With the LOTUS 102 SF laminating machine for solvent-free polyu-rethane adhesive, Steinemann Technology has a time-proven, continu-ously improved system that offers the ideal answer to these demands. Thanks to technologies ‘made by Steinemann’, the LOTUS 102 SF deliv-ers high laminating quality and productivity at favourable investment and operating costs.
Depending on the substrate and the laminating film used, the LOTUS 102 SF applies a mere 1.8 to 3.5 g polyurethane adhesive per square metre. A double sheet-cleaning brush with an additional, heatable, chromium-plated calender makes for smooth, dirt-free substrate surfaces. Thanks to the ‘cold’ laminating process, the sheets lie flat throughout the entire production process. The films are cut precisely and without tension by the Steinemann Hot Knife. Moreover, the system’s power consumption is low, since the LOTUS 102 SF does not need a drier. Customers around the world confirm direct cost savings in the region of 20 to 30%, giving them a decisive competitive advantage.
In the course of the years, Steinemann Technology has steadily extended the field of application of this laminating machine, which has a throughout capacity of up to 11,000 sheets per hour. At PRINTPACK INDIA, the company will be presenting a new feeder for the LOTUS 102 SF, featuring the suction head of the KBA Rapida 105. This feeder once again significantly reduces the setup times, while simultaneously increasing production reliability – an effective re-sponse to the exacting demands of packaging production.
“India is one of the key markets for Steinemann Technology. By exhibiting at PRINTPACK INDIA 2011, we are investing in further growth in this upward-moving, highly dynamic market, where Steinemann machines are traditionally the equipment of choice for leading printers and finishers. High-end laminating and offline varnishing machines continue to have major potential, especially in the packaging segment. PRINTPACK INDIA offers Steinemann the ideal plat-form for further strengthening its position on the market,” says Albert Fässler, Area Sales Manager at Steinemann Technology AG. In addition to existing and prospective customers from India, the company is also expecting to see visitors from other countries.
