Klabin promotes a series of lectures on Quality and Environment for employees
Wednesday 01. December 2010 - Among the topics covered in the meetings will be the environmental benefits resulting from implementation of Expansion Project MA-1100.
In keeping with its Sustainability Policy, which determines the pursuit of competitive quality focused on sustained progress of its results and ongoing improvement of its processes, products and services, Klabin will promote a series of lectures on Quality and Environment, in the period of the 25th of October to the 15th of December.
Targeted at employees and contract workers in the Monte Alegre Plant, the lectures are intended to teach them how to care for and improve the environment and product quality, and also to stress the need to adopt these practices in the day-to-day life of the company.
The main objectives are to encourage correct practices of waste disposal, disclosure of environmental control activities, care for the environment, the use of emergency environmental kits distributed in the mill and precautions to be taken when handling all equipment and supplies which are part of the company’s production process. Moreover, employees will receive additional information on the actions of Klabin concerning performance of effluent treatment plants, modernization of incinerators, reduction of noise and odors and re-use of waste, environmental benefits resulting from Expansion Project MA-1100, and other matters.
The intention is to streamline these actions and to make them standard practice at the Plant, leading to a major contribution to the entire process. “With the help of these lectures, not only are employees turned into disseminators of good practices, but the company is encouraging teamwork, which, in the end, can make an enormous difference. Actions like these are extremely important, since they arouse the employees’ attention during work routines”, states Arthur Canishares, the industrial director of the Monte Alegre Plant.
