Momentive Specialty Chemicals, Inc. to Raise Prices for Polyester and Vinyl Ester Resins in North America

Friday 19. November 2010 - Momentive Specialty Chemicals, Inc. announced it that effective December 15, 2010, it will raise prices for unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins by six cents per pound.

“While demand in our domestic market has remained soft, strong demand in other regions of the world coupled with reduced supply has led to dramatic increases in feedstock cost. This combined with the weakness of the dollar has led to increased costs for raw materials which we can not absorb and make the price increase necessary, We expect the difficult supply situation to continue well into 2011. We will continue to do everything we can to provide value for our customers now and in the future.” said Gerhard Bohme, Business Director North America, Composite Polymers.
