Stick-Tec produces 1 million doming stickers per year with Roland DG printers/cutters

Tuesday 07. December 2010 - The German company Stick-Tec specializes in the production of doming stickers. These are stickers on which a resin layer is applied in order to create a 3D effect. Stick-Tec produces these decals with Roland printers/cutters.

In 2003, Guido Voutta founded the company Stick-Tec.de Digitaldruck in Mülheim (Germany). He didn’t have experience in the business, but he already devoted a big part of his spare time to the cutting of stickers for his cars. Therefore, he used a Roland cutting plotter, the STIKA SV-15. At the moment, Stick-Tec owns three Roland machines: an SP-300, a VP-300 and an XC-540 with white ink. Guido Voutta recounts: “We have been working with Roland machines as from the very beginning. At the time, we tested several machines, but Roland proved to deliver the best print quality. We mainly use the machines to print and cut PVC foils in order to make all sorts of stickers. In 2005, we started with doming. In two years time, these stickers became our most important product group. We now produce more than 1 million of these stickers per year. Doming stickers are highly durable and have a more luxurious look than regular stickers. The resin protects the sticker against scratches and the influence of water and UV radiation.”

According to Guido Voutta, Roland DG stands for high quality and reliability. The machines are also very easy to use. Voutta: “Our Roland machines produce more than 100 hours per month without any problems. Even very small stickers with fine letters and details are printed perfectly.”
