Omega-Tronics delivers electronics on demand

Tuesday 30. November 2010 - Omega-Tronics is specialized in the development of electronics. The company takes care of the electronic design and integrates this afterwards in a mechanical design. Also the production of functional prototypes is done by them. For this, the firm uses a Roland DG milling machine. According to business manager Philippe Aerts, ease of use and solidness are the main assets of the MDX-540 milling machine.

Philippe Aerts founded Omega-Tronics in the Belgian city Lummen at the beginning of 2006. He used his many years’ experience in the development of electronics to build up a company that offers a complete service for the development of casings for electronics. His clientele is diverse. Product developers, doctors, people from the entertainment sector and the industry appeal to Omega-Tronics. The company already developed control panels for Jacuzzis, luxury chairs, speed control cameras, agricultural machines and more.

Omega-Tronics has been working with a Roland milling machine for some years. They use the machine to produce functional prototypes. Philippe Aerts explains: “My mission is to support my clients from beginning to end. I didn’t want to restrict my business to electronic and mechanical design, but I wanted to be able to produce functional prototypes as well. So I went to the Euromold show to find out which solutions were available on the market. The Roland MDX-540 turned out to be the perfect solution for me. This machine had the best price/quality ratio. I have been using the machine for two years now. I use it to mill front plates and adapt existing casings. I even use the MDX-540 to produce small series of custom designed casings. Most of the time, I use different types of plastics or aluminium for prototyping. The machine is fast, accurate and easy to operate, so I’m very satisfied with it.”

Philippe Aerts believes his business has growth opportunities. He explains: “Omega-Tronics is now ready to offer its customers a full service. In the future, we will extend this ‘from idea to product’ service in order to be able to provide a solution to every problem. And the MDX-540 will have a central function in this development.”
