Niggemeyer Bildproduktion thinks big

Monday 29. November 2010 - The German company Niggemeyer Bildproduktion was recently amongst the winners at the Fespa Digital Print Awards. The Bochum based company was runner-up in de category ‘textile printing'. The jury praised the work they did for BP, British Petroleum. Niggemeyer printed 285m² of textile with the Roland SJ-1045EX. These panoramic prints were used to embellish the BP offices.

Niggemeyer Bildproduktion was founded in 1962 by Hans-Jürgen Niggemeyer. In the beginning, the main business was photo development, but the focus shifted from analogue to digital throughout the years. Niggemeyer started with a digital print service in the early 90’s. Today, Roland Niggemeyer and Peter Schütte are in charge of the company. Roland Niggemeyer describes the current situation: “Our company has five focal points: XXL printing, textile printing, printing on rigid materials, high quality printing and fine art printing. Our biggest clients are various fashion retailers and one of Europe’s biggest retail giants. We produce all indoor prints for these hundreds of stores and organize the replacement of the prints on the spot.”

Niggemeyer Bildproduktion uses four Roland machines for the production of textile prints (FP-740 and SJ-1045EX). The company uses these sublimation printers for the production of posters, banners, flags, table cloths and so on. In order to be able to meet the great demand, the Roland machines run about 15 hours a day.

Roland Niggemeyer is very satisfied with Roland DG: “The quality of the prints is extremely high and the machines are very stable and reliable. In short, good value for money. Since we bought our first Roland machine, we never bought another brand for sublimation paper printing.”

Things go well for Niggemeyer Bildproduktion: in 2008, the company won the award for the best printing company in Germany and a year later, they were runner-up at the Fespa Digital Print Awards. Moreover, expansion doesn’t seem to be far away. Roland Niggemeyer: “Since the textile market keeps growing, we want to expand our business with even more textile printers. Clients desire a perfect quality on flexible media and we can deliver the perfect solution.”
