HARPER TECHNICAL EXPERTS AMONG SPEAKERS AT FFTA FALL CONFERENCE IN LOUISVILLE
Tuesday 09. November 2010 - The three-day conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Louisville, KY, features a full agenda of technical presentations supplemented by tabletop exhibits by Harper and many other leading suppliers. The conferences target audience includes pre-press technicians, press operators, packaging buyers, quality control staffers, graphic designers and suppliers.
In his address, Teufler, Technical Advisor at GraphicSolutions division of Harper, will discuss the variety of factors traditionally associated with the problem of “spitting” or drool when using ultra-violet inks.
Also, Teufler will explain what he calls the surprising results and statistical analysis of recent spitting tests he conducted in coordination with FFTAs Flexo Quality Consortium standing committee.
Malm, Midwest/West Coast Technical Graphics Advisor for Harper, will highlight anilox selection options industry insiders can use to minimize variables and increase the likelihood of success before ever going to press. Standardization, Malm will suggest in his address, is a method to permanently retire the “chemistry set” approach to printing.
Team creation, goal selection, testing criteria, documentation and preparation protocols, he says, will advance the path toward standardization and ultimately reduce set-up times and waste.
