Muy Interesante is now on iPad with the help of In4Magazine technology

Tuesday 02. November 2010 - This version allows the reader to live a different news experience

A version of the Muy Interesante magazine, part of the G+J Group, is now available on iPad. Taking advantage of the redesign of its traditional print publication, the group has developed a version for this Apple device that is now in the app Store. Like its print counterpart, this new version has been prepared using In4Magazine, Protecmedia’s editorial system exclusively for magazines.
Among the different approaches to iPad that are available, Muy Interesante has chosen a specific design for this device. Based on the layout of the print version, the magazine designs another version solely for iPad, in horizontal and vertical format. The approach is to take the stories and items dealt with in the paper version and to embellish them with all of the functionalities offered by iPad.
The iPad version of Muy Interesante allows the reader to experience the magazine in a new way. The visual and sound possibilities of this device multiply the publication options, allowing the user to enjoy more photographs, with large format and high definition, videos, audios, web links, browsing by subjects and so on. All of this helps to greatly enrich content. In addition, the effects that can be achieved through different layers or transparencies add up to a completely innovative experience. A range of possibilities that, without doubt, offers significant added value.
José Corbalán, head of technology in the production department at G+J, highlights the importance of having In4Magazine as an editorial system prior to the creation of the iPad version. “If we hadn’t been able to rely on In4Magazine, it would have been impossible to get the iPad version ready in such a short period of time.”
The arrival of the iPad offers new scope to magazines – as a media that is traditionally visual, innovative and creative, this device offers them everything they need to progress to a different level. “People at Muy Interesante are already thinking about the iPad”, says José Corbalán.
