Kodak and MMR Global Help Medical Offices Easily Digitize Records with MMRPro Software and KODAK Scan Station Pro 550

Tuesday 26. October 2010 - Today in booth 1709 at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Annual Conference, Kodak and MMRGlobal, a member of Kodak’s Independent Software Vendor program, announced plans to deploy a new version of the MMRPro system (www.mmrprovideos.com) supported by Kodak’s newly launched transactional scanning solution to help physician offices and other small practices get a firm handle on converting patient billing, forms, and medical charts into digital, easily managed and accessed files.

The new KODAK Scan Station Pro 550 incorporates the power of KODAK Capture Pro Software, enhancing direct connection to MMRPro Software, a secure, web-based solution. This enables easy capture and access to paper-based patient documents and charts with the utmost security—extremely important to healthcare professionals and their patients.

“MMR and Kodak have created proprietary and innovative technologies to provide a strategic, cost-effective and easy-to-use solution to help healthcare providers convert their paper-based medical records into digital files. This is an entry-level step to full EHR deployment that includes an e-prescribing module and an integrated patient portal, giving patients timely access to their personal health information through MMRGlobal’s MyMedicalRecords PHR,” said Bob Lorsch, CEO, MMRGlobal. “The transactional KODAK Scan Station Pro 550 features a customized solution using the capture and output capabilities found in KODAK Capture Pro Software, including barcodes, OCR, MICR and others. Working hand in glove with MMRPro software, now we can meet the needs of small medical offices, group practices, surgery centers, and small hospitals that rely heavily on using transactions-based processes and forms, including patient billing, prescription data, and medical charts.”

The Scan Station Pro 550 incorporates an intuitive GUI touch panel allowing users to work seamlessly with the MMRPro Software, and enabling the user to scan patient-related health care documents directly into MMRPro with the push of a single button. Additionally, the MMRPro Software allows updates for patient files via fax, email or telephone messages, through secure, staff-based permissions. Patients can quickly and securely upload their health information to their MMRPatientView Personal Health Record account in real time using a computer connected to the Internet.

“The solution with MMR is an example of how Kodak works with its network of Independent Software Vendor partners to create strategic, specific applications that do more at the point of capture,” said Brian Bagan, Director, Business Development, Document Imaging, United States and Canada, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Medical offices and other industries can use transactional scanning solutions to help automate their internal business processes, as well as improve the information sharing practices across offices.”
