KYOCERA MITA to Acquire Epson Group Software Engineering Company and Establish New R&D Center in Cebu City, Philippines
Monday 04. October 2010 - Kyocera Mita Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Katsumi Komaguchi; herein "Kyocera Mita") has announced that Kyocera Mita and the Epson Group have entered into a stock transfer agreement for 100% of shares in Epson Software Engineering (Philippines), Inc. (Cebu City, Philippines; President: Tsukasa Kubota; herein "ESEP") on September 30, 2010. The stock transfer is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2010.
After the transfer of stocks, the company will be renamed Kyocera Mita Technology Development Philippines, Inc. (President: Fumihiko Fujiwara; herein “KTDP”). Currently, Kyocera Mita has software development bases for printers and MFPs at its Osaka R&D Center, Tokyo R&D Center and Kyocera Technology Development Inc. – which has 2 offices in California (U.S.A.). With the acquisition of ESEP, Kyocera Mita’s software development structure will be comprised in 5 locations.
The purpose of establishing KTDP is part of Kyocera Mita’s global business strategy to strengthen its product development. With the new software development center in Asia, this will expand Kyocera Mita’s global software development capability.
