It’s a Digital First for Postmedia Network

Monday 04. October 2010 - Postmedia Network Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Postmedia Network Canada Corp., reached its highest ever online audience of unique visitors in August, its first full month as Canada’s newest media company.

According to comScore Inc., the industry standard for digital marketing intelligence, the Postmedia Network digital audiences reached 7.9 million unique visitors (UVs) in August solidifying its position in the top three news and information destinations in Canada. This also sees Postmedia taking the number one spot among English-only audiences.

“This strong showing reinforces our digital first strategy,” said Malcolm Kirk, Executive Vice President, Digital Media. “The growth we saw in August was led by our online newspaper websites which were up 32% in the past year.”

Maintaining a strong lead in the category, 4.4 million Canadians visited one or more Postmedia newspaper websites in August, 37% higher than the nearest competitor.

“Our strategy includes strengthening our online offerings to audiences and advertisers,” said Mr. Kirk. “The most recent results show that we are focusing our efforts in the right direction.”
