Domino D-Series Plus Laser Boosts Production at Oxo Producer Premier
Tuesday 28. September 2010 - As a staple of the British kitchen since 1847, OXO, which is produced on one of several production lines making sauces and noodle products at Premier in Worksop, requires reliable and fast coding and marking technology. When the time came for Premier to replace their old lasers, they contacted Domino thanks to an impressive experience with its A-Series continuous ink jet printer that is installed on their canning line.
“Weve had a very positive experience with Dominos A-Series,” explains Russell Inman, engineering manager at Worksop. “We wanted to look at other suppliers when the time came to replace our previous laser, and despite having no experience with its laser scribing technology, Domino was top of the list.”
Russell, who has been based at the site for over twenty years, adds “Premier looked at the different products on the market and Domino offered us a trial of the Domino D-Series plus laser with no obligation. The trial was successful, professional and the tender was competitive which gave us the confidence to invest with Domino again.
“The D-Series plus codes a best before date and date code onto the OXO packaging, and performs excellently in a 24/7, three-shift working environment. It has been installed along with a Domino DPX fume extraction system, which is also excellent, and we had training on site for both systems. The equipment has proved highly reliable, and the service and products have more than lived up to what I expect from Domino. Domino is an organisation that does exactly what they say they will and their products work in the same way – I really like that.”
