Tieto and Sanoma agree on centralising administration IT services

Thursday 02. September 2010 - Tieto and Sanoma have signed an agreement on centralising IT services of the administration to Tieto starting from 2 September 2010.

The agreement covers the financial systems, e-mail and intranet solutions of the Sanoma Group in Finland and as an option partially in the Baltic countries. Also the workstation support and onsite support services, data centres and data communications functions are centralised to the appropriate extent. In conjunction with this arrangement, five employees will be transferred from Sanoma to Tieto Finland.

“Sanoma is the largest operator in the Finnish media business and an important partner of Tieto. We are happy to be able to extend our co-operation with Sanoma. By combining the in-depth competence in the media industry, application management services and outsourcing operations we can provide extensive service entities for our customers. We warmly welcome the transferred employees to Tieto,” says Ari Karppinen, Country Head of Finland, Tieto.

“This is a significant arrangement in the Finnish scale, and it will reduce the level of IT costs for Sanoma. The arrangement also standardises the ICT systems and services in the Group, supports more efficient processes and promotes co-operation. The transferred operations belong to Tieto’s core business, which provides good conditions for development,” says Päivi Hokkanen, Chief Information Officer, Sanoma.
