Vario goes back to basics

Tuesday 31. August 2010 - Whilst most other B2 litho printing companies are concerned about whether to get involved in digital or inkjet, Vario is not. Having invested heavily in new litho and digital presses and inkjet technologies in the past two years, Vario wants to go back to basics and invest in newer and better finishing equipment.

David Clarke, managing director of the Slough based company, says: “We have selected the Stahlfolder TH66 buckle model with compression stacker to create 8pp and 16pp sections that can be taken directly to our stitch trim line.”

In addition to the Stahlfolder folder, Vario is replacing two Perfectas with two Polar guillotines, both the new 92X Plus model with touchscreen technology. David Clarke adds: “With the touchscreen your operators know you’re buying state of the art kit.

“Heidelberg is ahead of the field with its finishing technology and we also have great confidence in its ongoing service and support which has always been very good”.

When Guy Clarke, David’s son, visited Ipex to view the equipment Vario had ordered, he picked up the company’s Twinning Prize in the PrintIT! Awards, in recognition of the company’s efforts to promote printing in schools and particularly its work with Herschel Grammar School.

Vario believe – Investing in finishing is also investing in their future
