EDSF ANNOUNCES DOCUMENT COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Tuesday 17. August 2010 - Despite a Challenging Economy, EDSF Assists Students When They Need the Most Help

In a time when Americans owe more money to students loans than credit card debt, EDSF is making a difference by financially helping students who are pursuing careers in the field of document communications. EDSF recently awarded its 2010 – 2011 school year scholarships, offsetting the ever-increasing financial burden, which currently amounts to some $829.785 billion in the United States, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Despite this challenging economy, EDSF presented 38 scholarships to students. EDSF is the international non-profit organization dedicated to the document management and graphic communications industries. To learn more about EDSF, visit www.edsf.org . Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded 277 scholarships in nine countries: Canada, China, Dubai, Iceland, Italy, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russian Federation, United Kingdom and the United States. In 2010, international scholarships included Australia, Canada and the Russian Federation. To learn more about EDSF, visit www.edsf.org .

Brenda Kai, EDSF’s executive director, said, “The current economic environment combined with escalating tuition costs have made this a harrowing time for students needing financial support. However, thanks to the generosity of our Board of Directors, along with contributions from other industry supporters, the door has remained open for students needing help to achieve their dream of a bright future. A special thanks to the Scholarship Selection Committee for their efforts with the difficult task of selecting the recipients.”

The EDSF scholarship program is supported by companies and individuals involved in the document management and graphic communications industry, including: AIIM International, Allegra Network, AlphaGraphics, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, Canon USA, CGS Publishing Technologies, EFI, Fedex Office, Franchise Services, GMC Software, InfoPrint Solutions Company, InfoTrends, Mimeo.com, Océ North America, Presstek, PrinterPresence, Quark, RISO, Inc. and Xerox Corporation.
