HighWater Products Ltd gives full accreditation to the GPS-Xtreme Violet plate for commercial applications
Tuesday 10. August 2010 - Following extensive plate testing HighWater Products Ltd are pleased to announce the accreditation of the GPS X-treme Violet Photopolymer plate for commercial applications, using the Cobra-2, Python and Cobra-8 Violet CtP systems which are manufactured at their production facility in Cheltenham UK.
Peter Flynn Sales Director at HighWater Products comments “Violet CTP has certainly come a long way since Agfa started the Violet revolution with their silver based plate technology. In the past three years the situation has changed as we have accredited numerous Violet Photopolymer plates from manufacturers around the world. Violet diode imaging is achieving a substantial market share of the platesetters sold, and gaining an increasing share of the plate supply market.
Some of the new screening technologies that used to be the strong hold of Thermal CtP plates can now be produced to a very high quality standard using Violet plates as we have seen during the GPS X-treme accreditation process.
The question for all purchasers of CTP should be throughput, cost of ownership, environmental issues and preferred suppliers, rather than what is really now a non-issue, namely Thermal or Violet technology. You only have to look at the success Violet is having in the new emerging CtP markets of China and India to realise the excellent total cost of ownership this technology offers.
With the introduction in Europe of the GPS X-treme Violet plate and the creative financial bundled packages available for the HighWater CtP product range and GPS plate both companies are looking forward to a successful partnership in the commercial print sector.”
