South Americas largest media corporation chooses CCI NewsGate
Friday 06. August 2010 - Infoglobo, part of Brazilian media giant O Globo Organizations, chooses CCI NewsGate to simplify and optimize cross-media publishing workflows.
“Way beyond the paper of a newspaper. On Line. On Time. Full Time”. That was the mission statement when the Rio de Janeiro based media corporation Infoglobo reasserted its main title O Globo as a cross-media vehicle for reliable information in 2009.
To streamline the workflows and production processes relating to cross-media publishing, Infoglobo entered into an agreement with CCI for a CCI NewsGate solution for all of their print and digital media.
CCI NewsGate is a cross-media editorial collaboration platform supporting the entire process from idea and research through planning to writing, editing and publication in print or digital media. The CCI NewsGate solution includes digital publishing technology from leading provider Escenic.
“We are already creating multimedia content, but are using many different systems and having a complex workflow to follow. The combination of NewsGate and Escenic will simplify the daily operations in the newsrooms and improve our overall efficiency. Also, we believe that it will be much simpler to create a new distribution channel and/or product in the CCI environment,” said Carlos Safini, CIO of Infoglobo.
Infoglobo invested more than six months evaluating different systems and providers before deciding to go for a CCI NewsGate solution.
Said Carlos Safini: “We were looking for a solution provider with proved experience in companies with size, organization and market approach similar to ours. On the technology side, three aspects were particularly important to us: The user interface must be intuitive to use and simple to teach, the core system must be robust, well-architected and stable and the editorial content management system must be easy to integrate.”
To tap into CCIs success implementing editorial projects for some of the leading media corporations of the world, Infoglobo has chosen to include CCI business consulting services in the project, which was kicked off in March with roll-out planned for October.
Said Dan Korsgaard, CEO of CCI: “It is highly rewarding for CCI that we now have the opportunity to invest our long-standing experience with large-scale editorial projects in a partnership with the leading media corporation on the South American continent.”
