Ricoh Revolutionizes DocumentMall with New Applications
Friday 02. July 2010 - Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment and advanced document management solutions, announced DocumentMall Version 9.3, an upgrade to DocumentMall, its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for document management.
As a cloud solution, DocumentMall enables customers to easily store, retrieve, manage and share electronic files and scanned paper documents. DocumentMall 9.3 helps businesses convert documents and information into intelligent content. The new enhancements add advanced functionality, providing users with more options to better manage digital content.
DocumentMall 9.3 includes an updated viewer that supports various file formats and improved user performance. The on-line viewer offers users the ability to view more than 300 file formats ranging from text, graphic and presentation files. It also gives customers the ability to annotate files without altering the original content. The new viewer by Adeptol was designed specifically for SaaS environments and utilizes AJAX technology to stream files. The enhancement offers customers significant improvements in opening and working with files of different types and sizes.
DocumentMall 9.3 will also include retention policy services as a second part of the upgrade. The retention policy services module will enable customers to implement automated processes for reviewing, maintaining and destroying documents. Through the use of uniform policies for access and disposition, retention policy services help customers comply with regulations and legal requirements while reducing risk and document storage costs. DocumentMall’s retention policy services module will be available in late July 2010.
“Like with all of Ricoh’s products and solutions, we’re always looking for ways to improve and offer new benefits to our customers,” said Yuki Uchida, Vice President, Strategic Program Support, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “The DocumentMall upgrades offer customers across many environments and disciplines a better way to handle their document management needs.”
