Océ Phantom Code pushes online publishing to new horizons
Tuesday 15. June 2010 - Océ Phantom Code was a star attraction at the inaugural London Digital Book Printing Forum in London last week where Océ was a major sponsorand new leads with printers were found.
The book industry is one target market for this intelligent dot coding, called Océ Phantom Code, which can be read by an easy-to-handle reader. This technique is useful where the code needs to be invisible to the naked eye, such as in security information, or when additional information, such as web content or video, needs to be revealed via a direct web link.
Océs Paul Krisson presented at the forum – organised by INTERQUEST research and consultants – and was part of a panel of guests debating future technologies, which included Océ Phantom Code.
Océ customer Andy Cork, from Printondemand-worldwide, also presented and was on a debating panel. Other Océ customers, such as 4edge, also attended.
Paul Major, Director of Stock Planning for Oxford University Press, who was the keynote speaker, said afterwards: “The Phantom code was definitely one of the most interesting developments at the Digital Printing Book Forum. This product needs to reach the editor who could fully exploit the commissioning opportunities it might provide.”
