Release of GMG ColorProof update brings best ever proofing quality to Ipex

Friday 21. May 2010 - GMG, developer and supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, is pleased to announce today the release of version 5.1.1 of its award-winning proofing software GMG ColorProof.

The latest version incorporates innovative platform technology which enables future implementation of new printers, optimized remote proofing and nesting functions, as well as new calibrations and profiles. This ensures that users achieve the highest contract proofing quality at all times. The same applies to GMG DotProof and GMG FlexoProof halftone proofing software, which are particularly suitable for packaging proof applications.

Version 5.1.1 offers full integration of the newly supported proofing devices Epson Stylus Pro WT7900, Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300/iPF6350/iPF6300 inkjet printers, which will shortly be joined by the Roland VersaUV LEC-330. Users can create high quality mockups and packaging proofs on original substrates.

Remote proofing has become a popular buzzword in the color management industry. With ColorProof 5.1.1, it is easy to upload jobs to a FTP server to have them printed at the location of choice. The GMG CalibrationSet and ProofStandard technology guarantees identical color results at host and remote location. Remote proofing can be optionally documented via e-mail notifications with some basic e-mail settings.

GMG ColorProof features nesting algorithms that can be used by users’ workflows to achieve a fully automated image processing with minimum ink and media consumption. In the latest ColorProof version, the nesting algorithm has been optimized, leading to a significantly higher degree of automation and higher efficiency.
Additionally, GMG ColorProof 5.1.1 contains all the necessary calibrations and profiles for the recently launched new proof media NewsProof 76 for newspapers.

The latest versions of the company’s flagship proofing software will be demonstrated at the GMG stand in Hall 9-E322 and on several booths of industrial partners: at Canon (Hall 10-CDEF270), Epson (Hall 10-C260) and Roland DG (UK) (Hall 12-C140).
