EskoArtwork at Ipex 2010: Connecting More through partners
Friday 21. May 2010 - An impressive illustration of the Solution Integrator role of EskoArtwork through a widespread network of industry partners: connect more hardware, more software and more third-party products to make printers more successful.
EskoArtwork will continue its “Connect More!” theme at Ipex 2010, scheduled for 18-25 May in Birmingham (UK), where EskoArtwork is located in Hall 12 on stand C150, as well as at many partner stands throughout the show. EskoArtwork extends its competency across the entire print and packaging supply chain as a solutions integrator for the print, packaging and display industries on three levels, all of which will be evident at the show:
EskoArtwork solutions are nearly omnipresent in digital printing for packaging and labels with an increasing number of digital press manufacturers operating with EskoArtwork workflow, RIP and color management software as an integrated Digital Front End (DFE). This allows press manufacturers to focus on their core competencies, while their customers take advantage of the same industry-proven and familiar solutions they are using for their traditional print operations.
No one knows better than EskoArtwork that digital finishing solutions ensure highly productive and cost effective workflows for digital printed signs and packaging. With four Kongsberg tables at Ipex, visitors will see many examples of digitally converted applications on the EskoArtwork stand as well as on the Canon and Fujifilm stands.
EskoArtworks long-standing partnership with DuPont will again demonstrate the ongoing development of digital flexo plate imaging and processing for superior flexo printing.
“By continuously extending and deepening our partnerships throughout the entire print and packaging supply chain, we strive to offer our customers integrated solutions that allow them to increase productivity, efficiency, quality and ultimately also profitability,” comments Carsten Knudsen, CEO of EskoArtwork. “Ipex is the ideal platform this year to demonstrate our advanced solutions together with a diverse range of industry partners. Visitors to our stand and to those of our partners will see the results of intensive cooperation between partners to provide integrated solutions.”
EskoArtwork will be partnering with the following industry leaders during Ipex (in alphabetical order):
Agfa Graphics (Stand 11-CD220). Digitally printed folding cartons and vinyl will be finished on the EskoArtwork stand. Textile applications will be printed on the Agfa Ghandi superwide format devices and digitally finished on the EskoArtwork Kongsberg i-XP-24.
Canon (Stand 10-CDEF270). A Kongsberg i-XE10 cutting table will be operated on the Canon stand to finish digitally printed and personalized LEGO boxes, a unique application that requires the precision and speed of the Kongsberg tables for the accurate cutting.
CERM (on the EskoArtwork, HP and Xeikon stands). EskoArtwork has a strong relationship with MIS partners like CERM that specialize in JDF automation for the packaging and print industry. CERM and EskoArtwork will be jointly demonstrating integrated solutions such as the one implemented at Frances CIPPI award-winning 5Sept Etiquette. An integrated workflow focused on digital printing will be shown on the HP and Xeikon stands. Demonstrations will feature the JDF-compliant integration of CERM MIS system with the EskoArtwork Automation Engine workflow solution.
Domino Printing Sciences (Stand 17-D900). Domino and EskoArtwork recently entered into a relationship whereby Domino will utilize the EskoArtwork DFE for its newly announced N600 inkjet printing press. Visitors will be able to see the first print results of this agreement at the show.
Durst (Stand 11-F220). Durst has added an EskoArtwork DFE in front of its Tau 150 label press, with integrated RIP, color management and editing modules. The powerful end-to-end solution includes prepress workflow software, a high-speed liquid UV ink label press with variable data printing capability and a matching die-cutting and lamination unit. Visitors will be able to discuss this new relationship with both Durst and EskoArtwork personnel to understand how it may benefit their businesses. On the EskoArtwork stand, the Kongsberg i-XP will be finishing roll material digitally printed on the Durst Rho.
DuPont (Stand 12-C150). The EskoArtwork digital flexo solutions will be presented together with DuPont Cyrel, who occupies the adjacent stand location. A high resolution cantilever Cyrel Digital Imager will be on display at the EskoArtwork stand, in combination with the Cyrel FAST in-the-round (ITR) system on the neighboring DuPont stand, an easy to use solution that delivers a continuous print flexo sleeve.
Epson (Stand 10-C260). The EskoArtwork software solutions, along with Epson digital presses, offer printers the opportunity to provide fast turn around times and shorter print runs, with versioning and customization. New at IPEX is the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 supported by EskoArtwork FlexProof 10 and a new label press, the Epson SurePress L-4033A, which will be sold with an EskoArtwork DFE in Europe. “The addition of the EskoArtwork DFE to the Epson SurePress L-4033A is really important to us. It means that label converters will at last have an accurate, efficient and easy to use short run label printing solution to meet the needs of their business.” says Marc Tinkler, Senior Business Manager, Commercial and Industrial Printing, Epson Europe B.V.
Fujifilm (Stand 9-CD360). On the Fuji stand the Kongsberg i-XL24 will be demonstrating a variety of applications. The Kongsberg finishing table complements Fujifilm’s wide-format offering and offers a complete wide-format solution from delivery and media selection to the finished print.
Hewlett Packard (Stand 12-AB150). HP and EskoArtwork have a successful strategic partnering and pioneering relationship in digital print development for labels and packaging applications. “The collaboration between EskoArtwork and HP has brought a new level of predictability and ease-of-use to the demanding digital label and packaging market,” says Geert De Proost, Director Software Engines at EskoArtwork. HP will be demonstrating HP SmartStream Labels and Packaging solutions powered by EskoArtwork. The design, prepress and workflow software is embedded in the front end of the HP Indigo industrial presses WS4500 and WS6000. The highlight of the demonstration is the integration of a label ordering and processing workflow in collaboration with MIS providers CERM and Tailored Solutions (LabelTraxx).
Roland DG (Stand 12-C140). EskoArtwork and Roland DG have initiated a partnership for the development of a workflow front end for the Roland proofing equipment.
Sun Chemical. The integration of the Sun Chemical SmartColour database with the EskoArtwork Suite 10 will be demonstrated during Ipex on the EskoArtwork stand. The EskoArtwork Color Engine downloads full spectral ink profile information directly from the Sun Chemical SmartColour database of spot ink profiles. In combination with the EskoArtwork patented color management technology, this partnership with Sun Chemical truly closes the loop from design to ink on the press. The SmartColour ink profiles are at the basis for integrated spot color management, vital for a packaging and label workflow and saving time and money for converters by eliminating the need to fingerprint production presses.
Tharstern (Stand 9-F319): Tharstern Ltd. are a market leading provider of Print Management Information Systems. At Ipex 2010, Tharstern are introducing their next generation Tharstern MIS. One of the new and exciting MIS features is the embedded link to EskoArtwork ArtiosCAD, completing the support for Packaging and Cartons workflows in the Print Management Information system.
Xeikon (Stand 11-C230). Xeikon will be demonstrating EskoArtwork MIS and prepress workflow integration with its family of digital label presses. This will included CERM MIS feeding into EskoArtwork Automation Engine for an automated, end-to-end solution for labels and folding cartons. Other EskoArtwork solutions included in the mix at the Xeikon stand are ArtPro, ArtiosCAD, Studio, Plato, and color management solutions.
Xerox (Stand 07-CD450). Complementing the Xerox iGen4, Xerox customers use EskoArtwork packaging design and pre-production solutions and Kongsberg dieless cutting tables as an end-to-end printing and finishing solution for short-run folding carton packaging. On display at the Xerox stand will be the EskoArtwork Suite 10 software.
“At Ipex, our theme of Connect More is really brought to life,” concludes Carsten Knudsen. “Of course we continue to introduce innovative and better connected solutions of our own. However, we understand the value of adding beneficial partners to the mix where their core competencies can add to a complete solution. I am convinced visitors to Ipex will be pleased with the wide variety of connected solutions they see from EskoArtwork and our partners across the entire show floor.”
