EPSON EUROPE PARTNERS WITH ESKOARTWORK TO PROVIDE PREPRESS CONTROL FOR NEW SUREPRESS DIGITAL LABEL PRESS

Epson Europe today announces a technology partnership with EskoArtwork to provide a dedicated digital front end (DFE) for the Epson SurePress L-4033A digital label press, launched at IPEX in the UK (18th-25th May, Hall 10, Stand C260). The new SurePress L-4033A with EskoArtwork DFE will demonstrate a streamlined label production workflow during the show.
EskoArtwork has worked closely with Epson to develop a front end that optimises the performance of the versatile Epson SurePress L-4033A to produce cost-effective, short run, high quality labels. The press is a six-colour narrow web digital press that prints on a range of paper and film up to 330mm wide, at speeds up to 5m/min. The easy-to-use DFE features several established EskoArtwork technologies, including a high-performance RIP and Kaleidoscope Color Management, giving flexible workflow management and control for efficient, accurate and consistent output.
The combination of EskoArtwork’s prepress expertise and the quality of the Epson SurePress provides the industry with a label production solution that is perfectly tuned to the needs of the short-run label converter. Sophisticated colour management tools enable ICC-compliant multi-color profiling and guarantees wide gamut colour accuracy including special and spot colours. All the production flexibility of high-volume label printing is available in the short-run SurePress, including the ability to support step and repeat, versioning and customisation.
The open architecture of the DFE enables the short-run label printing solution to fit easily into existing digital workflows.
