New electronic procurement portal at Vitanas based on Heiler Software catalog solution – implemented and hosted by NEXUS/IT
Tuesday 04. May 2010 - NEXUS, the IT solution provider, has introduced a new purchasing platform at Vitanas. The Heiler Business Catalog serves as a central sourcing and ordering medium in e-procurement. In collaboration with PFLEGEN UND WOHNEN Vitanas operates 53 centers for senior care, geriatrics, care of persons with special needs, and psychiatric care.
The Heiler Catalog Manager serves as a supplier portal to validate, integrate and approve supplier catalogs in procurement. The suppliers themselves manage and provide their catalog data. After approval by Purchasing, the new product catalogs are then made available for searching and procurement. The central sourcing and ordering platform for all staff at Vitanas is the Heiler Business Catalog. Certified integration of the Heiler catalog solution with SAP guarantees transparency for all procurement transactions.
“At Zehnacker, a former member of Burkart Beteiligungsgesellschaft, to which Vitanas also belongs, we successfully introduced Heiler and Nexus with positive results, especially with respect to excellent user acceptance”, says Hermann Amrehn, authorized signatory and head of central procurement with Vitanas.
NEXUS / IT GmbH is an implementation partner for the Heiler solution with a track history of key competency as an IT solution provider in health care. “After the launch, we will be introducing the electronic catalog across Germany in our senior citizen centers and clinics”, Amrehn continues. The operative procurement process will now form a closed circuit, thanks to integration with SAP, and thus run within the confines of a precisely defined process. This helps to avoid maverick buying. (Maverick buying refers to orders placed outside of the procurement system and ignoring procurement processes and policies. Editor)
“Our objective is to use the Heiler catalog to handle at least 80 percent of our total purchasing needs. This also applies to services and maintenance work.” says head of procurement Amrehn.
