SEAL at Fespa 2010: Hall B2, Booth 260
Thursday 29. April 2010 - Laminating with the SEAL Experts
The laminating experts of SEAL are going to be at the Fespa 2010 presenting their whole selection of protective and mounting films as well as three machines: The SEAL 600 MD, the award-winning SEAL 62 Base and the AquaSEAL AS 1600. The roll laminators 600 MD and 62 Base are ideally applicable for professional finishing of diverse materials with films. The AS 1600 can be used for applying water-based varnishes on a variety of media.
AquaSEAL AS 1600
By applying a durable external coating the AquaSEAL 1600 especially processes vinyl and waterproof inkjet media. The liquid laminate thus protects digital prints against wear, humidity, UV radiation and chemicals. The SEAL experts show the attendees how varnish is applied on the printed digital nonwoven wallpaper “Erfurt wallpaper CA” by Neschen. Even though digital print wallpapers are robust themselves, it is recommended to apply a layer of clear varnish as an additional protection, for example in doorway areas in hotels or restaurants.
“The requirements in the graphics industry are extremely multifaceted”, says Frank Seemann, marketing and communications director for the SEAL brand. “That is why we are following the issue of which varnish is suitable for which medium and which application together with the attendees at the Fespa. Or in other words: Which liquid laminate is adequate for protecting digital prints properly and sustainably?”
SEAL roll laminators 600 MD and 62 Base
The roll laminator SEAL 600 MD is a robust bidirectional high-performance high-demand device equipped with two heated roller pairs. Thanks to its two roller pairs this high-performance machine can process hot and cold laminating applications independently. Additionally, the device comes with a variable temperature, velocity and pressure control, the rollers are lifted and lowered pneumatically. That is how the machine allows comfortable mounting, laminating and shrink-wrapping of a variety of materials (up to 1,550 mm wide and up to 25 mm thick).
The cost-effective laminator SEAL 62 Base is part of the presentation, too. This powerful starter model is equipped with all basic features which users need for professional mounting of finishing and protective films as well as double-sided adhesive film. The fully developped roller technology reliably processes pressure-dependent materials up to a thickness of 50 mm at a velocity of up to 5 m/min. Both rollers are made of silicone and especially the heat assisted top roller (up to 40 (C) provides a high degree of consistent quality. The maximum working width is 1,575 mm.
With the help of the comprehensive selection of protective and mounting films the SEAL experts show how effective finishing can be achieved by the right choice of materials in combination with the right machine. The new SEAL products UV Sol Lam, Print Shield Pro Anti Graffiti and Base Stoplight 190 are the highlights.
The UV Sol Lam range consists of especially durable, pressure-sensitive PVC laminating films with solvent adhesive for picture enhancement of all digital print technologies, especially UV-curing inks. Bumps are evened out unproblematically, so that the print media are very well protected against damage as well as fading due to UVA and UVB radiation.
With its specially finished surface the Print Shield Pro Anti Graffiti film protects digital print media optimally against graffiti and vandalism. It is washable and extremely resistant against a large number of detergents and solvents. In the SEAL line of products it is a cost-efficient alternative to the other standard products of the market.
Base Stoplight 190 is a strong polyester rear side film with an aluminium core and works as a light protection for roll-up display systems. The display media are mounted in a cold lamination process to the self-adhesive film, which then adheres to them permanently as a white, opaque film.
The SEAL brand, international leader in the field of finishing, will be at the Fespa 2010 in Munich from June 22 through June 26: Hall B2, Booth 260. The high quality roll laminators SEAL 600 MD and SEAL 62 Base, the corresponding protective and mounting films as well as the innovative liquid lamination process will be on display. The liquid laminators and associated equipment are distributed under the label AquaSEAL.
