Monday 22. March 2010 - Quad/Graphics will install a new Goss Sunday 2000 web press at its newly renovated QuadDirect headquarters in Pewaukee, Wisconsin (USA) this summer.

The six-unit Goss press will feature a unique cut-off and web width. Goss International will supply a Contiweb CS splicer and an Ecocool dryer with the press system, which Quad/Graphics will use to produce direct mail and specialty products at the Pewaukee plant. The press will replace older technology that will be taken out of service, allowing the QuadDirect operation to achieve higher print quality and productivity with less waste.

“We continuously invest in new press technology across our facilities to make sure our customers have access to the most productive and efficient platforms available,” explained Tim Sands, Quad/Graphics Vice President of Press Operations. “The addition of this new Goss press gives Quad/Graphics one of the most robust, innovative platforms in the direct mail industry to support our clients’ continued focus on targeted communications.”

The Sunday 2000 press model is emerging as an ideal choice for direct mail and specialty printing applications, according to Graham Trevett, Goss International Vice President for Commercial Web Sales in North America. “This is an agile press that excels at short as well as long runs, and a versatile press that can be customized through a wide range of cut-off, web width, configuration and integrated auxiliary options.”

Quad/Graphics currently operates more than 25 Goss Sunday presses at web offset production facilities throughout the United States. The company has also installed more than 100 Goss Pacesetter and Universalbinder finishing systems since 1980.
