Presstek Forms Legal Entity to Support Asian Distribution Efforts
Friday 29. January 2010 - Presstek Asia Pte. Ltd. Incorporated to demonstrate commitment and dedication to Asian Market
Presstek, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRST), a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing solutions, today announced that Presstek Asia Pte. Ltd. (“Presstek Asia”) has been formed as a legally incorporated entity to better enable Presstek to support its growing distribution channel in Asia and to further its strategic growth initiative of international expansion. Featured products in the region will be Presstek DI digital offset presses, Presstek Aurora Pro chemistry-free CTP plates, and Presstek Aeon a high resolution non-preheat thermal CTP plate. Both Aeon and Aurora Pro are open platform plates that work on 830 nm platesetters. A range 4-up and 8-up platesetters will also be marketed within the region.
“We are continuing to grow our distribution channel in the Asia Pacific Region,” said Tim Sawyer, Pressteks Director for the Asia Pacific Region, “and the formation of Presstek Asia helps to ensure that we can provide the best possible support for our partners and customers by having a stronger local presence. It also positions us to expand our organization by adding incremental technical and sales support for both CTP and DI solutions.”
With the formation of Presstek Asia, Presstek expects to be able to grow its business in the Asia Pacific Region more rapidly. “We have had initial success with our DI presses in this region,” adds Sawyer, “and we expect this to continue. In addition, Presstek will be adding distribution to support our CTP growth. By creating a more robust infrastructure in the region, we will be better positioned to support our partners and customers with our market-leading open platform digital plates and platesetter solutions.”
To support customer demand for demonstrations of Presstek DI solutions, Presstek has installed a 52DI digital offset press in the Singapore demonstration facility of Presstek distributor Cyber. “This facility will provide our customers throughout the region the opportunity to bring in test files, see the press in action, and have a hands-on experience with the 52DI to better understand how it can help their businesses be more capable, profitable and competitive.”
“The formation of Presstek Asia is a significant step in our regional expansion growth strategy,” said Jeff Jacobson, Chairman, President & CEO. “Tim is doing a terrific job with our distribution partners in this strategic geographic location. Our further investments in this region demonstrate our commitment and dedication to this important market.”
