2010 takes IMPIKA’s iPrint range to the next level

Friday 15. January 2010 - IMPIKA celebrates the new year with a full range effect and a new design for its « iPrint » continuous feed printers

Impika developed its iPrint range of continuous feed DOD inkjet printers to satisfy the needs of professionals working in the fields of transactional, transpromotional, book, magazine and newspaper printing. The iPrint range offers the most modular and flexible solutions available on the market today. Theses machines stand out for their print quality, their productivity and their compatibility with an industrial environment.

Different models
The iPrint range is now made up of three models. With their « white reel » concept of colour printing, they have ushered in a whole new era of document production.

– iPrint 75: high quality
The iPrint 75 has been designed for high quality colour printing applications. Offering a resolution of 1200 dpi thanks to its adjustable droplet volume, it can print at speeds of 40m/min (131ft/min) to 76m/min (250ft/min) on different matt or gloss coated papers. Its advanced inkjet performances make it comparable to the best sheet-fed and continuous feed electrophotographic printers on the market, and suitable for transpromo, direct marketing and « print on demand » colour book applications.

– iPrint 125: large adaptability
iPrint 125 is the most adaptable colour printing solution on the market today and can achieve colour print runs which combine high quality (600 dpi) with high productivity. Depending on the configurations, it can produce as many as 50 millions A4 pages per minute per month, and print up to a speed of 127m/min (416ft/min). It is intended for transactional, transpromo and colour newspaper printing applications.

– iPrint 150: high speed
Designed for speed and high productivity, this model prints at a single resolution of 600 dpi, in monochrome or spot colour (2 or 3 colours). It is particularly well-suited for transactional and monochrome book applications and can produce up to 2 048 A4 pages per minute at a speed of 152m/min (500ft/min).

All these models use the most advanced inkjet print heads on the market whose reliability and graphic precision is already well-established. In addition, they are all equipped with automatic cleaning stations, based on an exclusive know how patented by IMPIKA, ensuring optimum availability for production. They run with 520mm (20.47″) reels of paper, and print on a 474mm (18.74″) width, in standard versions on substrates from 60 to 160gsm, and in optional versions with papers up to 220gsm.

Different configurations
To satisfy customers’ needs, every model in the iPrint range is available in several configurations:
– SES (Single Engine Simplex) , SED (Single Engine Duplex) or TED (Twin Engine Duplex) systems
– resolutions of 360 x 600 dpi, 600 x 600 dpi or 1200 x 600 dpi
– speeds from 40m/min (131ft/min) to 152m/min (500ft/min)
– production rates from 268 to 2 048 A4 pages per minute
– monochrome, spot colour or quadrichromic
– multiple set-up configurations: in I, L, U or H

The variable data management of all the configurations is operated by an AFP/IPDS controller, referenced “iPrint Controller”. This controller of the latest generation features a fully sizeable and configurable multiprocessors and is compatible with all the hosts on the market. Developed in-house by Impika, it is capable of managing optimal data streams for every application.

Workflow software is also available for graphic art applications, mostly in PDF formats.

In addition, Impika has the necessary skills and know-how to offer global printing solutions including integrated pre and post processing equipment (roll, puncher, cutter, folder, stacker…) as well as online control tools (integrity, registration..)

Adaptive capacity
All the iPrint models are adaptable and modular. It is possible to migrate from monochrome to colour, connect an additional print-head to use an extra colour or special fluid (varnish, MICR, fluorescent ink..), and switch to a duplex set-up or add a printing mode.

Green thinking
Fully compliant with ROHS guidelines, the iPrint range has been designed to ensure environmental sustainability. It is energy efficient and uses water-based dye or pigmented inks with a hot-air drying process. Its digital technology cuts all the costs of conventional printing consumables and reduces paper wastage to a minimum. At last, drop on demand (DOD) piezo electric inkjet contributes to ink consumption optimization.

Exclusive service
To meet the high standards of the document production industry, IMPIKA has set up a dedicated structure for maintenance and customer support. It provides high quality service both on- and off-site that meets all the needs of the profession.

Talented design
The iPrint range features a unique and innovative industrial design which is “IMPIKA like”. The basic concept is compact, accessible, simple and user-friendly. The range’s new lines offer a functional solution to users’ needs, while displaying an advanced industrial aesthetic.

With the iPrint range, IMPIKA offers its users the opportunity to print their difference.
