Pantec GS Systems launches hotfoil embossing machine system for self adhesive labels
Wednesday 25. November 2009 - Pantec GS Systems announces the launch of RHINO(tm), a machine system for flat hotfoil embossing on reel material.
Hotfoil embossing combines the steps of hotfoil stamping and embossing into one single tool. According to Pantec GS Systems RHINO(tm) achieves especially on open, structured papers significantly better results than conventional rotary systems.
Peter Frei, General Manager of Pantec GS Systems, explains the reason for the process benefits: RHINO(tm) produces – even with cost-effective flat stamping foil – at 15.000 cycles/hour (100m/min) glossy, precisely registered foil/embossing combinations, which add a first-class appearance especially to wine labels. Due to the simultaneous application of foil and embossing plus the longer retention time in flat hotfoil embossing, the brilliance of the brightness is apparently better than in conventional two-track processing.ì Peter Frei also highlights the saving potentials by using flat stamping tools and the benefit of the high performance: ÑDue to the high operation speed, RHINO(tm) can be integrated to rotary and semi-rotary printing machines without influencing the machine’s performance.ì
RHINO(tm) is equipped with a revolving foil head allowing the creation of complex designs which can not be offered to this day due to economical reasons. Thus, two and multi-color designs with interleaved foil and blind embossing can be manufactured in one single step.
The first RHINO(tm) starts operation in December at an Italian wine label manufacturer ñ integrated into a Nilpeter MO-4.
